Nearly a month has passed since Local Update 03 on 28 July. Open State has grown across Iskandar Puteri and the wider Johor experience in that time. More local businesses have joined, more partner mini apps are ready to explore, and the paths between discovering a place and deciding what to do next are clearer.
You can now open dedicated partner mini apps for Café Théra, Mini Golf Craft Arena, Hologate VR, LOST in JB, Britz 2.0, 27@Cove, Blissglow Wellness, Haha Wonderland, HaHa Construction Park, PanKobo Japanese Bakery, The Elite Car Wash & Detailing, and Local House. Together, they cover cafés, dining, wellness, family play, virtual reality, escape rooms, Japanese baking and car care.
These mini apps are built around practical questions. Depending on the partner, you can check its location, opening hours, directions, contact options, menu or service highlights, supplied prices and current venue promotions. Time-sensitive details are labelled so you know what to confirm directly with the business before visiting.
We have also made the line between discovery and a confirmed member benefit easier to see. A public partner page does not automatically mean that an Open State offer, booking, payment or redemption is active. Where a verified benefit is available, the app shows the relevant Passport path and confirmation steps. Where it is not available, the app says so instead of presenting a button that cannot complete the job.
Discover now gives each participating business a more useful home. Campaign cards, partner icons and detail pages are more consistent, while menus, services, contact actions and offers stay inside the partner experience. On smaller screens, tabs remain reachable, long content stays within the page, and the most useful actions are easier to find without covering what you are reading.
Events have moved forward too. Since July, Open State has supported the Japanese Book Exchange at ABCD Cafe and prepared clearer public event pages for local family and community activities. Published events can show the date, time, venue, attendance information, calendar actions and sharing controls together. Registration is offered only where the event and its capacity are ready for it.
The journal is now easier to keep and share. Founder’s Notes and Local Updates have dedicated links in all six supported languages, with clearer publication details and mobile reading layouts. You can send an entry through your device’s share menu or copy its direct link without leaving the article.
We have reduced the work required when the signed-in app first opens and tightened several mobile journeys across Home, Discover, Events and partner mini apps. The result should feel calmer on a phone, with less waiting, fewer clipped controls and a clearer return path when something goes wrong.
As more businesses join Open State, every addition still needs a clear purpose. We will keep checking source details, marking what has been verified, and keeping unavailable actions closed until the people, terms and operating steps behind them are ready.
